Sixth Form students excel in National Senior Mathematics Challenge

Senior Maths Challange

Following their recent participation in the national Senior Mathematics Challenge a group of top performing Sixth Form students at Ellesmere have now received their results.

Jake Asplin, currently in the upper sixth was one of seven students at the School who gained a silver award and also received the ‘Best in School’ award. 

The other silver award recipients were Cedric Carl, Jamie McBrien, David Nip, Max Spigiel, Annabelle Yin and Annie Zhang. Bronze awards were also presented to James Jarvis, William Norris, Candy Yang, John Zhang and Andy Zeng.

John Cowley, Head of Mathematics commented, ‘It is always good to see our pupils performing well in the Mathematics Challenge. There is no special preparation for it and, therefore, it is a real test of their mathematical ability.’
