Ellesmere College completed a £100,000 refurbishment to their kitchens during the Christmas holidays and since the beginning of the new term, pupils have been enjoying a new style of catering.
Following much hard work during the Christmas holidays by Ellesmere College's Operations Team, pupils are now enjoying a new counter service at meal times. Whilst retaining the traditional atmosphere of the Schools' Dining Hall, there is now a blend of modernity with the installation of ceramic counter tops and vibrant colours.
Michael Sampson, Deputy Head Pastoral commented, 'Whilst Ellesmere has always offered substantial and nutritious meals we are delighted that the modernisation of the kitchens will allow our catering staff to both enhance the choices available and make increased use of fresh ingredients to the benefit of pupils and the staff of the College alike".
With the serving of homemade soups, wraps and a variety of salads all attractively displayed, pupils are being encouraged to eat a wider variety of foods. Simon Harris, Aramark Director commented, 'We are delighted to have been invited to provide Ellesmere College's catering. The College is an important client for Aramark and has invested in a fabulous new servery and given us full support in the implementation of our healthy and exciting approach to pupil catering.'
