SIXTH FORM PUPILS FILL SHOE BOXES

As part of the annual support to the charity Operation Christmas Child, pupils from Ellesmere have been busy filling shoe boxes with Christmas gifts.

Ellesmere College Lower School Pupils have been filling boxes for the Wrexham based charity's Shoe Box Appeal for many years and in the last few years have been joined by the girls in the Sixth Form who this year have amassed a large pile of Christmas boxes in their House.

This year's Sixth Form initiative has been led by Laura Bernhofer, Head of St. Oswald's House who commented; 'I have been encouraging all the girls for the last few weeks to bring items from home. It has been such fun for groups of us to prepare the boxes in the evenings. We all hope that our efforts will bring smiles to the faces of the children who receive our boxes this Christmas.'

It is estimated that over 200 boxes will be filled by pupils at the School and these will be transported before the end of term by the School's Operations Team to the Shoe Box Appeal depot in Wrexham.
