GCSE Results 2006
Once again pupils from Ellesmere College are celebrating academic
success. 84% of Year 11 pupils secured the
higher grades A*- C. This compares very well to the national pass rates.
23% of Ellesmere grades were A* or A.
The majority of pupils achieved and exceeded their target grades. There
were some notable performances and these cannot pass without comment.
- William Bartlet - Wem - 7A*, 1B and a Distinction in ICT
- Rachel Harrision - Ellesmere - 6A* and 3A
- Jamie McBrien - Ellesmere - 6A* and 3A
- Jarmo Willemse - Chester - 6A* and 3A
- Hal Collison - Ellesmere - 1A*, 7A's, 1B
- Ben Giles - Whitchurch - 2A*, 5A's, 2B
Three of these students are going on to study the International Baccalaureate in Ellesmere College's Sixth Form.
Brendan Wignall, Headmaster commented "Following much hard work the
majority of our pupils achieved their target grades and many have excelled
in their results. The staff and I congratulate them on their success.".
The pupils are now looking forward to entering the Sixth Form at
Ellesmere College. Sixth Form life at Ellesmere College combines a full
range of A level subjects to choose from with excellent opportunities to
participate in sports, dramatic and musical performances, outdoor pursuits,
Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and much more.
