U13 Rugby Success

The Under 13A Rugby Team are celebrating the end of a busy and successful season.

This years season for the Under 13A Rugby Team has been a very pleasing one and the most successful to date. The boys only lost one game out of the eleven games they played in a grueling term of rugby. They scored 300 points in total during the season and only had 56 points scored in total against them. The Director of Rugby at Ellesmere College, Paul Goodwin commented, Their improving mental toughness has allowed them to keep a clean sheet against the majority of the opposition and games have been won in difficult circumstances. The highlight of the season was the first ever victory over Packwood Haugh, a game which produced some excellent rugby.

The team coach, Johnnie Morgan, also commented, There are many reasons why this year has been so successful but a few are noteworthy. The Teams Captain, George Baxter, from Hordley, has led by example both on and off the pitch. Every player has committed themselves fully to fixtures and training. New pupils have been welcomed and fully integrated into the team and support from parents, as always, has been excellent.
