A group of four Sixth Form students from Ellesmere College have scored top marks for their recent AS examination.Kim Fawcett scored the maximum marks on two English papers as well as one General Studies paper and one Geography paper. Jonathan Bevan similarly scored top marks for an English paper, Mike Thornhill on one General Studies paper. Matthew White also achieved top marks on one Mathematics and all three Electronic papers. He now has 300 out of 300 as he moves through to A2 in Electronics. Philip Wood, Head of Sixth Form and History teacher at Ellesmere College commented, We are always pleased when our candidates achieve A grades in their examinations but especially when this is supported by 100%. This year several students achieved maximum marks ans in more than one subject. They are now well placed as they come to make heir university applications. Although academic achievement is important to all our Sixth Form students, there is much more to life in the Sixth Form including the opportunity to develop sports talent, direct plays and have roles of responsibility in the School. Since we have students joining us after GCSEs, I would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in learning more about life in the Sixth Form. I can be contacted on 01691 622321.
