Concert 30th Jan
Ellesmere College's Spring Concert platform will start in earnest on Thursday, 30th January with an evening of music featuring Rossini, Grieg and Mozart. These will be performed by two of the most talent Sopranos performing at the moment - Judith Tinston and Jayne Carpenter, with Wendy Duke on Piano.
Judith studied at Trinity College of Music with Morag Noble and now follows a varied musical career. She is a member of the chorus of the Welsh National Opera and runs several choirs.
Jayne studied at the Royal College of Music with John Cameron. Having won numerous prizes including the Ian Fleming Musical Trust and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Jayne went on to represent England in the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, televised by the BBC. Jayne has worked with many major orchestras and opera companies and work as a vocal trainer, as well as a performer, has led to her being in great demand to direct choral and solo workshops.
Both Jayne and Judith have performed in many events together during the last few years and both appear regularly on ITV's “My Favourite Hymns” series broadcast on a Sunday morning.
Wendy studied at the Royal Academy of Music and gained many a GRSM(hons) degree and several diplomas. She has performed extensively in England and abroad and received sponsorship from the Arts Council for a concert tour of Ireland. She is in demand as a solo pianist as well as accompanist for a number of choral societies and opera groups.
Anyone is welcome to attend this performance to be held in the College Chapel, and tickets are available at £5 for adults and £4 for Concessions. For tickets or further enquiries please contact Ellesmere College on 01691 622321.
