Fishing for the big one!

PRESS RELEASE

A FLYING START TO A PROMISING FUTURE.

Ellesmere College Pupil, James Edwards has picked an unusual sport as a possible career, and is doing exceptionally well at it. The 14-year from Hinstock has been selected to represent England at fly-fishing.

James has recently competed in the Hanningfield European Open competition. This consists of three legs, the first in Belgium, the next in France - both fished from the bank, and the final fished from a boat on the Hanningfield Reservoir. It is unusual for one so young to be chosen for this type of event, but the team Captain recently witnessed James strength and determination at a competition in Cornwall where James carried on fishing well in very adverse weather conditions when many more experienced anglers gave up. During this competition he caught more fish than any of the other 47 anglers.

He has also been selected in all three major Hodnet Nomads Competitions this year.

James's standard of fishing and also strength of character improves with every competition he enters and has a will to succeed that is balanced by a healthy enjoyment of his fishing and his surroundings. This boy will go far in a sport that is normally associated with the older generations.
