Accommodation

The school has seven boarding houses which mostly have single and twin rooms but there are also some larger multi-bedded rooms available. There are both en-suite and shared bathroom options and we can accommodate up to 360 guests.

Big School

Our fabulous grand hall can be adapted for many uses from a formal dinner for 200 to a high quality concert venue or an exhibition space. The hall can comfortably seat 300 guests theatre style and has a stage area. The room is complemented by having five classrooms attached to it and Ante School is perfect for pre-dinner drinks or as a simple rendezvous point.

Dining Hall

This large room can seat 250+ guests on round tables and still leave space for a dance floor or 300+ guests on rectangular tables. A lining can be added to the room to create a marquee effect. An equally impressive area is Ante Chapel the area outside the dining hall and this is perfect as a pre-dining reception area for canapés and drinks.

The Chapel of St. Oswald's

Seating capacity for 450 guests this tranquil venue can be used by Old Ellesmerians for their wedding.

Terraces

This stunning area makes the ideal venue for a summer's evening reception, overlooking our cricket squares. With the school as a backdrop we can also add a marquee to this area if required.

Lower School

This standalone building has two particularly versatile spaces which are often hired. The ground floor assembly hall leads onto a patio area and is surrounded by a large grass area - this space is particularly suitable for dance classes or as a reception area for up to 80 guests. The top-floor open plan area which can accommodate 300 people is very popular with orchestras and choirs and there are plenty of classrooms which can be used as smaller practice rooms.

Arts Centre

The 200 seat auditorium creates an intimate atmosphere for both touring theatre groups and conferences. The Arts Centre also has numerous practice rooms and a bar area which is ideal for serving interval refreshments. The Foyer Area can also be used in isolation for exhibitions and parties.

Conference Room
